What all can go wrong at a party?

Throwing party calls for lots and lots of planning. But things might still go wrong. At a party packed up with fun and entertainment, certain issues might spoil your excitement. Let’s see what these things actually are:

Food allergies:

Every party is incomplete without a variety of delicacies. Now, having a number of mouth watering food items at your party may be futile if all of your guests are not able to have them. People who are allergic to certain food items may not be able to consume what you offer. So, in order to avoid such guests going hungry, or an unscheduled trip to the emergency room, make sure you include a request for this information on your party invitations. After all, it’s your responsibility to make sure the fare suits the crowd. Moreover, you need to warn the ones with allergies if certain foods will be present, so they better be careful!

Tech failure:

This is one of the most common blunders. There is a possibility that the speaker’s microphone won’t work, the video presentation won’t play or the internet might stop working at a crucial moment, causing an embarrassing situation. In order to avoid this embarrassment, consider having an AV partner working with you at the venue. Most importantly, make it a point to trial all laptops, A/V systems, and projectors, speakers and other technology that will be used at the party.

Legal involvements:

In a worst case scenario, things might go wrong to an extent where the cops get involved in the entire scene. The reason may vary from a friend getting into a fight or you having an accident or the neighbors complaining about the noise. All you need to keep in mind is that when interacting with the police, you should be knowing your rights and responsibilities.

Guests indulging a little too much:

This happens at parties where hard drinks are served. The guests may get too drunk to be handled and may create a scene. In order to avoid such a situation, you can organize games and activities that require people to put down their glasses for a while. You can also offer to mix the next few rounds of drinks, making the drunk guest a virgin cocktail instead!
